In a time when good news is thin on the ground, Nottingham Platers Ltd are delighted to report that they saw a 68.65% increase in net profits in the previous 12 months. This follows a recent takeover of the company by new management, who have focused on internal efficiencies, modernisation and the addition of new staff and staff training.

Nottingham Platers Ltd are a decorative chrome plating company, specialising in applying a chrome metal finish to a wide range of products including shop fittings, specialist tools, gym equipment, automotive parts to name just a few of the wide range of products that they specialise in.

They were established in 1982, by former owner Martin Humphries, who the new CEO credits for running a tight ship. The firm occupies its own premises in Old Basford, Nottingham and is ideally located for the M1 motorway.

Stephen Pratt the CEO remarked, “in my first nine months I spent the time modernising the internal procedures and looking for simple efficiencies. It was a very paper driven company with many staff members who have worked in the same way for many years. I haven’t focused any attention on driving sales yet as the company wasn’t ready for sales growth”.

It has been a steep learning curve for Stephen who has a background in finance but it is a challenge that he has relished, adding; “I am very active in looking to grow my business portfolio and would be very keen to speak to owners of companies that are perhaps considering retiring” The Midlands is a real engine of industrial growth and after years in a white collar environment, it is great to be able to put my skills to creating jobs and job security for the loyal staff.
